Poetics of Space

These are photographs of artist Cy Twombly's studio in Lexington, VA, taken by Sally Mann. His studio was an empty store front on a main drag - complete with linoleum floors, cheap carpet and garish fluorescent lighting. Mann states in her book, "Hold Still" that while he still had his home in Italy, he felt most productive and completed a mountain of work in that modest studio in Lexington.

I write this blog after spending an hour of my time looking through my "Studio Porn" pin board...

Space is what you make it, not what it physically is.

This is also called magic.
